We've selected 4 horse movies for you to enjoy at home

Hello cowboys and cowgirls! Let’s face it, if there’s one animal we love and appreciate, it’s the horse, right? This is because these creatures, in addition to being beautiful, are our greatest companions.

Therefore, if you're one of those people who loves to set aside some time to stay at home watching a movie with family or friends, we at 7MBoots have prepared 4 movie recommendations about horses that you must watch. After all, experiencing a taste of the countryside on screen is always amazing, isn’t it?

1- War Horse

Directed by the renowned Steven Spielberg, War Horse has made and continues to make a tremendous impact. Released in 2011, the film tells the story of the friendship between a boy (Albert) and a horse (Joey). However, Ted Narracot, the boy's father, lives on a rented farm owned by a millionaire and, disturbed by the situation, purchases the animal at an auction. The horse's size is not suitable for plowing, but still, a strong bond forms between Albert and the horse as Albert begins to train him to develop new skills. However, with the start of World War I, the horse is sent off to battle, and they are separated.

Ultimately, it's definitely worth watching this true classic of cinema. Spoiler: you will be moved by the surprising ending.

2- The Black Stallion

This classic film, released in 1979, tells the story of young Alec Ramsey, a boy who becomes completely enchanted by a black stallion on the same ship he travels on with his father. Unfortunately, an accident causes the shipwreck, and the only survivors of the tragedy are Alex and the horse, who find themselves alone on a deserted island. Surprisingly, in this survival situation, the two form a bond that remains strong even after they are rescued.

Don’t miss this extremely powerful and emotional production.

3- Dreamer: Inspired by a True Story

Released in 2005 and directed by John Gatins, Dreamer portrays the perfect union between a child and a horse.

Ben Crane (Kurt Russell) is a down-on-his-luck horse trainer who gets a chance to save a racehorse named Sonador, whose future seems bleak after a terrible injury. His daughter, Cale (Dakota Fanning), dreams of helping the horse to recovery and regaining its racing glory. The movie beautifully depicts the love for horses in a completely authentic way. It's worth watching and getting emotional.

4- Seabiscuit

The film, released in 2003, received numerous positive reviews and was even nominated for seven Academy Awards. While it has a more documentary-like character due to the narration, it also involves a lot of drama and emotion.

Based on the career of a racing champion, Seabiscuit was viewed with skepticism due to its size but became an incredible success during the 1930s thanks to its astonishing performance. After winning only four races, he turned into a true symbol during the Great Depression.
