With the purpose of stimulating innovation in agro-industrial systems, the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (Mapa), through the Secretariat of Innovation, Sustainable Development, Irrigation, and Cooperativism (SDI), has established protocols of intent with the states of Pará and Rio de Janeiro.
According to Pedro Neto, Secretary of SDI, the objective of the initiative is to unite research, technology, and new production models to increase the efficiency and competitiveness of the agricultural sector. "The formation of management committees and the use of the MapaConecta platform will be crucial to encourage research, technological advancement, and the creation of new business opportunities," the secretary emphasized.
The agreement signed with the State Secretariat of Economic Development, Industry, Commerce, and Services (Sedeics) aims to leverage innovation in the agricultural sector of Rio de Janeiro, promoting research, technological development, and the generation of new ventures. Mapa emphasizes that the collaboration provides new perspectives for strengthening ecologically sound production and increasing the competitiveness of agribusiness in the state.
In the state of Pará, the collaboration with the State Secretariat of Agricultural Development and Fisheries (Sedap) aims to consolidate agricultural and fisheries production, encouraging innovation and sustainable practices. Mapa considers that the protocol symbolizes a strategic progress to incorporate science and technology into the region's agribusiness, fostering the local economy and assisting in the development of the sector at the national level.
The partnerships established by Mapa with the states of Rio de Janeiro and Pará represent a significant step towards the modernization and sustainability of Brazilian agribusiness.
