Reminisce the Greatest Hits of Zezé di Camargo and Luciano

The two sons of Francisco, also known as Zezé di Camargo and Luciano, are true kings of traditional sertanejo.

The two sons of Francisco, also known as Zezé di Camargo and Luciano, are true kings of traditional sertanejo. In terms of information, the duo currently performs an average of 130 shows a year and has sold over a million albums.

Francisco's dream was to make two of his sons, the eldest Mirosmar and the second Emival, a successful duo. Born in Capela do Rio Peixe, both were encouraged by their father to enter the artistic world.

Francisco was a farmer and, with his savings, began to buy instruments to foster his sons' passion for music. The first was an accordion, followed by a guitar and a violin. Over time, Mirosmar and Welson became Camargo and Camarguinho, performing shows in circuses and bus stations and earning small amounts for it.

Francisco's dream was clear, and he already had the protagonists. The singers would be two of his sons, the eldest Mirosmar and the second son Emival. Born in Capela do Rio do Peixe, a district of Pirenópolis in the interior of Goiás, the boys were encouraged by their father to enter the artistic world. A few years later, they moved to Goiânia, the capital of the state, with the goal of seeking new opportunities. The fact was accomplished, and indeed, the duo gained more space and began to perform in some cities in the interior of the country.

Tragedy

Unfortunately, a tragic accident prevented the duo from continuing their quest for success. On the way back from a trip to Maranhão, a traffic accident killed Emival and left Mirosmar in a coma for two days. In the 1970s, after a hard recovery and three years off the stage, Mirosmar decided to pursue his artistic career in São Paulo.

In the capital, he even formed a duo with a friend called Zezé and Zazá. After recording three albums, the artist, now known as Zezé, decided to bet on a solo career. However, his compositions only succeeded in the voices of others. Chitãozinho and Xororó, for instance, recorded "Fode de mim" while Leandro and Leonardo chose "Aconhego" and "Solidão".

Finally, the success

After many attempts and frustrations, Zezé realized that he just needed the right companion to finally form the perfect duo. And that’s when his younger brother, Welson David de Camargo, better known as Luciano, came into play. Soon the brothers became Zezé di Camargo and Luciano, and in 1991, the hit "É o amor" exploded on Brazilian radio. From then on, recognition came for real, as in just over a year, the album featuring the hit had sold over a million copies.

The Greatest Hits of Zezé di Camargo and Luciano

After the first hit "É o amor", the sertanejo duo did not stop releasing hits. The second album, released in 1992, featured the song "Coraçã em Pedaços" on the charts. In 1993, the third album came out, bringing new hits like "Saudade Bandida" and "Eu só penso em você". The following year, a new album with new hits such as "Como um anjo" and "Vem Cuidar de mim" was released. The 5th album of the duo, released in 1995, included "Pão de mel" and "Sem medo de ser feliz". A year later, the songs that marked the era were "Indiferença" and "Quando a gente ama demais". From 1997 to 1999, great songs emerged, such as "Toma juízo", "É minha vida", "Meu coração só quer chorar", "Cada volta é um recomeço", "Vem ficar comigo", "Pra não pensar em você", "Dois corações e uma história" and "Pior é te perder", "Será que foi saudade" and the classic "Pare!". The 2000s turned the duo into more upbeat performers with the hit "Mexe que é bom" without losing the romantic essence with "Antes de voltar pra casa", "Dou a vida por um beijo", "Tarde demais". After winning a Latin Grammy and another from the Brazilian Academy of Letters, the sertanejo duo released, in 2003, their 13th album with the hit songs "Mudar a minha vida" and "Nosso amor é ouro". The next CD (2005) featured "Fera mansa". In 2005, the movie "Dois Filhos de Francisco" was released, which tells the duo's story on screen. With a stunning audience, the film was responsible for bringing "No dia em que eu saí de casa" back to the charts. Since 1991, success has never left the musicians' lives. Over time, the duo continued to compose and release more and more popular songs for the radio. Highlighting songs include "O que vai ser de nós", "Não quero te perder", "Faça alguma coisa", "Chega", "Sonho de amor", "Flores em vida" and "O defensor".
